BOHEMIAN MOD
A traditional Edwardian house in San Francisco was transformed into a cozy pied-à-terre with a colorful makeover. The clients were drawn to Bohemian interiors and wanted the home to have a casual and unique style. The colors and forms used in this design were selected based on the clients’ power colors, resulting in a home they feel strongly drawn to and comfortable living in.
The Bohemian styling of the house was achieved by combining a variety of patterns and textures. Yellow walls and a colorful undulating rug in the entryway led to the living room. Opaline walls in the living room provided a modern neutral background, alongside white curtains layered with coral fabric towards the top. A white loveseat with two poufs sits next to a bar cart, creating a space for the clients to relax in. With tassels running along the white fabric, the poufs added a boho-chic style to the space. In the corner of the room, an olive green armchair and footstool provided extra seating. Painting and pillows with bohemian patterns were used throughout the interior design to incorporate the clients’ power colors. A deep shade of ruby cloaked part of the bedroom walls, balanced by white on the other side. White bedside tables offered ample space for the clients’ books and table lamps to read under. Together with the bed linen, a painting above the bed brought in more of the power colors into the bedroom design.
All of the furniture pieces for this home were selected with a focus on warmth, comfort, and plushness. Rachel and the team also created many of the decor pieces and paintings used in the house to achieve the Bohemian Mod interior styling. Colorful, whimsical, and free-spirited, this bohemian modern interior design matched the clients’ personality and needs completely.
