Miami: Art Basel & Design Miami, An Interior Designer’s Guide

As an interior designer that works across the United States, I am typically only in Miami during Art Basel & Design Miami. I typically go for material inspiration, with clients to select art and to see vendors and friends. This time of the year Miami pulls the greatest creative minds and buyers from across the United States and abroad, providing a platform to discover art and home goods as art, and even jewelry as art. Many of the galleries have parties for their collectors. Fendi has a Miami store location and they throw a great party… Navigating the invites, calendar, driving, crowds at Soho House and the traffic is nuts… but once you get a hang of it it’s fun. I mean who would ever forget the first time at Art Basel you got to see behind the scenes of a James Turell? Next time you are at Art Basel & Design Miami consider visiting some of these great places too:

 

Chateau ZZ

Chateau ZZ will be a popular place to visit once the construction is completed. It is known for its modern house interior design and hospitality design. Located at 1500 Brickell Avenue in Miami, Chateau ZZ will be Major Food Group’s first Mexican restaurant. The restaurant will feature a solarium, bar and lounge, and gardens on the first floor, offering a delightful dining experience. While I may not be a fan of the dark visual references of Faena’s hotel. I have to admit the have some great art and events. Faena Art fosters plays with social interaction transcending the traditional boundaries of art, science, philosophy, and social practice.
