A room full of art is the best gift anyone can give me - so visiting Art Basel 2021 naturally made me feel like a kid in a candy store! This was one among my favorite installations there. I'll be sharing more of these in the coming weeks so keep an eye out!

I'm designing more of 332 Cocoanut units, and I can't wait to show it when it's done. Meanwhile, I got some gorgeous pics taken at the 332 Cocoanut Pool deck. It turns out the deck is an excellent photo backdrop!

Sometimes simplicity is the best design choice for an interior. A less distracting space can bring out architectural features or materials, adding to the overall experience of a room.

To create a simple, meditative space, focus on the lighting, materials, and choosing each piece carefully. More than anything, consider if the design makes you feel peaceful in the room.

Minimal bedrooms can be very calming, especially when you wake up with morning sunlight.

In such rooms, I find that a peaceful ambience and soft colors with neutral shades work best. Even large furniture pieces almost disappear in light colors, creating an uninterrupted ocean of calm.

Of course, even minimal rooms need a pop of brightness - here it's brought by indoor plants. The large leaves of the palm and philodendron keep to the scale of the bedroom and add an organic touch.

If you have a neutral color palette in your home, a few geometric prints can add dimension to the space.

◾ Geometric patterns on cushions and rugs are the easiest to use. These can be switched around to suit your creative side.

◽ Geometric wallpapers create an amazing backdrop against simple furniture pieces. Patterned floor tiles work the same way.

◾ Mix patterns with solid colors and soft furnishings. This keeps the lines in balance and makes the interior more interesting.

Concrete is a finish I rarely handle, so I was really excited to design this stairway with a combination of raw and polished surfaces. The natural textures add just the right amount of detail this space needs.

Instead of a painting, a light fixture felt more fitting here. The subtle glow adds depth while highlighting materials and making the area feel more open. What do you think?

Lighting is very important in interiors. All the little details and decor in your home can get completely lost without illumination 💡

I always add lighting to accent the pieces my clients love; a favorite bookshelf, painting, or plant. It draws focus and makes them more enjoyable. If you love to read, a well lit book case will make you happy!
